Apple's latest iPad Pro packs a punch with the new M4 chip in an ultra-thin design. Its vibrant Ultra Retina XDR OLED display and support for Apple Pencil Pro and Magic Keyboard make it a powerhouse for professionals.
The 2024 iPad Pro, powered by the new Apple M4 chip, represents a significant update to Apple's high-end tablet line.Available in 11-inch and 13-inch models, it features a strikingly thin and light design, making the 13-inch model the thinnest Apple product ever created at just 5.1mm.
A major highlight is the introduction of the Ultra Retina XDR display with revolutionary Tandem OLED technology. This display utilizes two OLED panels to deliver exceptional full-screen brightness of up to 1000 nits for SDR and HDR content, and a peak HDR brightness of 1600 nits. It boasts a 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio, ProMotion adaptive refresh rates from 10Hz to 120Hz, wide color (P3), and True Tone technology for a stunning visual experience. A nano-texture display glass option is also available on 1TB and 2TB models for reduced glare.
At its core is the Apple M4 chip, built on second-generation 3nm technology. The M4 chip features a new CPU with up to 10 cores (4 performance cores and 6 efficiency cores in 1TB and 2TB models, and 3 performance cores and 6 efficiency cores in 256GB and 512GB models) and a 10-core GPU with hardware-accelerated ray tracing. It also includes a 16-core Neural Engine, making it a powerful device for AI tasks and demanding professional workflows, offering up to 1.5x faster CPU performance and 4x faster pro rendering performance compared to the previous M2 chip.
The iPad Pro M4 features an updated camera system with a 12MP Wide rear camera capable of 4K ProRes video recording and an adaptive True Tone flash for improved document scanning. Notably, the front-facing camera is now a landscape-oriented 12MP Ultra Wide camera with Center Stage, optimizing video calls.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6E and, on cellular models, superfast 5G. The USB-C port supports Thunderbolt / USB 4, offering high bandwidth for connecting external displays (up to 6K resolution) and storage devices.
The new iPad Pro is compatible with the all-new Apple Pencil Pro, which introduces new interaction features like squeeze, barrel roll, and haptic feedback, as well as the Apple Pencil (USB-C). A redesigned, thinner Magic Keyboard with a function row and a haptic trackpad is also available, enhancing the iPad Pro's versatility as a productivity tool.
Storage options range from 256GB to 2TB. Models with 256GB and 512GB of storage come with 8GB of RAM, while 1TB and 2TB models are equipped with 16GB of RAM. The iPad Pro M4 runs on iPadOS, offering a range of features for multitasking and utilizing the power of the M4 chip. It supports Face ID for secure authentication.
